The Visa Waiver Program (VWP)



No longer grants entry or allows travel to the United States for individuals in the following categories nationals of VWP nations who, on or after March 1, 2011, visited or were physically present in Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen (with certain restrictions on travel for official or military missions in support of a VWP nation). Nationals of VWP nations who visited or were physically present in Cuba on or after January 12, 2021 (with some restrictions on travel for official or military missions while representing a VWP nation). Individuals from VWP nations who are also citizens of Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Those who are going with fully legitimate e-passports equipped with an electronic chip for travel, leisure, or business purposes for fewer than ninety days. Visa-free travel does not apply to anyone who intend to work, study, or stay in the country for longer than ninety days; these people are still entitled to apply for visas under US visa regulations. The following individuals are ineligible to travel visa-free under the Visa Waiver Program: those who have been arrested, even if the arrest did not result in a criminal conviction; those with criminal records (the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act does not apply to U.S. visa law); those with certain serious communicable illnesses; those who have been denied admission to or deported from the United States; and those who have previously overstayed on the VWP.

A copy of the itinerary is required to be carried when using an electronic ticket so that it may be shown to US immigration at the port of entry.
